A research centre located in the countryside

Set in a natural parkland close to Paris, the Jouy research centre is situated in a region reputed for the density of its research resources and higher education institutions.

 

Located about 20 km south-west of Paris, and 7 km east of Versailles, the Jouy centre employs 1300 people, or 10% of all INRA personnel. Approximately 1000 full-tenure staff work there all the time, and a varying population of more than 500 people are welcomed every year for training.

The Jouy centre has 33 laboratories (or research units). Nine of them are joint research units with other public-sector agencies or higher education establishments:
